Steve delivers bears to Cook Children's Medical Center
"This was our first time to order teddy bears from Plush in a Rush. Their staff was very helpful, understanding our needs and compassionate about our charity. I ordered the bears on a Friday morning and they delivered them to Cook Children's Medical Center the same day!"
Steve Amburn founded Cara Young Fish For Life Tournaments 11 years ago in honor of his daughter, Cara, who passed away at age 23 after a courageous battle with Cystic Fibrosis. Inspired by the care she received at Cook Children’s Medical Center, Steve’s nonprofit supports the hospital through annual events and plush drives.
His efforts began with a fishing tournament to raise funds for the hospital’s greatest needs program. Today, the charity holds an annual teddy bear drive for Cook Children’s Prayer Bear ministry, fundraisers, and special deliveries of toys and gear to brighten children’s days.

Steve also collaborated with Cook Children’s on a new food card initiative called “Cara Cards,” which provides families of CF patients with funds to buy meals during extended hospital stays. We’re proud to play a small role in Steve’s mission and look forward to more plush deliveries in the future.
